It was awarded at the ceremony on the &#8220;green stage&#8221; of the ITB Berlin 2023 trade fair, in which Peru is participating with a delegation of 22 national companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greendestinations.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Parque-Nacional-Tingo-Maria-Tingo-Maria-National-Park-conserving-its-biodiversity-and-ecosystem-services-for-the-benefit-of-the-population.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;Tingo Maria National Park, conserving its biodiversity and ecosystem services for the benefit of the population&#8221;<\/a>, which describes how the communities and the park administration have identified and developed three actions that allow them to generate economic income and thus improve their quality of life while contributing to the conservation of the park.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image wp-image-214867\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"400\" height=\"213\" src=\"https:\/\/test.visit-latin-america.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/cueva-de-lechuzas-interior_637733543435993441-red.jpg\" alt=\"Cave of owls, Tingo Maria National Park (PromPeru)\" class=\"wp-image-214867\" srcset=\"https:\/\/visit-latin-america.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/cueva-de-lechuzas-interior_637733543435993441-red.jpg 400w, https:\/\/visit-latin-america.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/cueva-de-lechuzas-interior_637733543435993441-red-300x160.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Cave of owls, Tingo Maria National Park (PromPeru)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Their initiatives include the protection of butterflies and the production of handicrafts, the breeding of bees for the production of honey and pollen with medicinal properties and their sale in eco-boutiques. It is one of the oldest protected natural areas in Peru, composed of the Bella Durmiente mountain range, and has developed important strategies for the conservation of its natural resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tourism is an activity that has an important impact on the Peruvian economy, with a multifaceted offer of unique experiences for visitors.
