The Bar\u00fa volcano, Panama&#8217;s highest point at 3,474 metres, dominates the region. Surrounding this sleeping giant is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.miambiente.gob.pa\/ecoturismo360\/volcan-baru\/tour.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">Parque Nacional Volc\u00e1n Bar\u00fa<\/mark><\/a>, an area of protected nature where you can go for walks and enjoy the local flora and fauna. There are several hiking trails to choose from, including La Nevera and El Quetzal, ideal for observing several species of bird, including the famous quetzal and the toucan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chiriqu\u00ed region is also famous for its fertile coffee-growing soils. The village of Boquete, nestling at the foot of the Bar\u00fa volcano, is renowned for producing some of the finest coffee in the world. Visitors can take part in coffee tours and discover how this much-loved beverage is produced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A rich Amerindian culture<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Chiriqu\u00ed province is also home to the Ngobe Bugle indigenous nation, the largest in Panama. These indigenous people have excellent artistic and craft skills.
