However, since 1981, a research, conservation and development project has been underway, transforming what was once considered a wasteland into a monument representative of Lima culture and an example of cultural management at national and international level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:2px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" src=\"https:\/\/test.visit-latin-america.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Huaca-pucllana-red.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-216739\" srcset=\"https:\/\/visit-latin-america.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Huaca-pucllana-red.jpg 400w, https:\/\/visit-latin-america.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Huaca-pucllana-red-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>This sanctuary, built almost entirely from adobes, compressed mud bricks dried in the sun, consists of a 25-metre-high pyramid and a series of courtyards and enclosures, where guided tours are offered, allowing visitors to discover the history and culture of the region. Workshops are also organised, offering participants the chance to learn traditional craft techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, Huaca Pucllana is much more than an archaeological site. It is a centre for research, training and tourism, with a permanent archaeological project, educational activities throughout the year and a programme to conserve and promote the monument, notably through its museum.
