This positive trend is a clear indicator of the sector&#8217;s robust recovery from the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. These figures are not just statistics, they represent <strong>a tangible improvement in the quality of life in rural areas and a significant contribution to the country&#8217;s economy thanks to foreign currency<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The North American contribution<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The majority of tourists will come from North America,<\/strong> mainly the <strong>United States<\/strong>, with 1,326,744 visitors, <strong>an increase of 18.2%<\/strong> compared to 2022. <strong>Europe is not to be outdone<\/strong>, <strong>with a 4.9% increase in air arrivals<\/strong>, led by France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and Switzerland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tourist attractions<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image wp-image-217968\">\n<figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/test.visit-latin-america.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/arenal-1-red.jpg\" alt=\"D.R.\" class=\"wp-image-217968\" style=\"width:186px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/visit-latin-america.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/arenal-1-red.jpg 400w, https:\/\/visit-latin-america.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/arenal-1-red-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">D.R.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Visitors are <strong>attracted by Costa Rica&#8217;s natural wealth<\/strong>, <strong>outdoor activities, sunny beaches<\/strong>, as well as <strong>its culture and gastronomy<\/strong>. These elements continue to make Costa Rica <strong>a destination of choice for international travellers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Travelling Costa Ricans<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Interestingly, the number of Costa Ricans travelling abroad has increased by 38%, with 881,760 people visiting mainly the United States and Mexico, compared with 638,559 in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/test.visit-latin-america.com\/costa-rica\/?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Costa Rica<\/a> is positioned as <strong>a leading destination for tourism in 2023<\/strong>.
