Iberia <\/a>continues to strengthen its network between Europe and Latin America with new routes and additional flights. After a record year in 2024 and a 16% increase in the number of seats available<\/strong>, the Spanish airline continues to expand its presence in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More flights, more connectivity <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In preparation for the 2025-2026 winter season, Iberia will increase its flights to Chile, Peru and the Dominican Republic<\/strong>, offering more than 355 weekly flights <\/strong>and 2.4 million seats to all its destinations in Latin America<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Santiago de Chile<\/mark><\/a><\/strong> will benefit from two additional flights, bringing the total to 12 per week<\/strong>, an increase of 20% on the previous year. Lima will see an increase from 13 to 14 weekly flights<\/strong>, carrying around 1,360 passengers a day from Spain. Santo Domingo <\/strong>will also see an increase, to 13 weekly flights<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The operational changes introduced last year will remain in place. Buenos Aires<\/strong>, Bogot\u00e1 <\/mark><\/strong><\/a>and Mexico City <\/strong>will continue to benefit from three daily flights in each direction, for a total of 21 flights a week<\/strong>. Other destinations such as Quito<\/strong>, San Jos\u00e9<\/mark><\/strong><\/a>, San Juan <\/strong>and Mon<\/mark><\/strong><\/a>t<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>evideo <\/mark><\/strong><\/a>will retain seven weekly flights<\/strong>, while San Salvador <\/strong>and Guatemala will have four. Guayaquil<\/mark><\/strong><\/a>, Panama <\/mark><\/strong><\/a>and Havana <\/strong>will have three flights a week.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brazil increasingly connected <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Iberia is also strengthening its long-haul network by adding two new routes to Brazil, complementing its existing flights to S\u00e3o Paulo <\/mark><\/strong><\/a>and Rio de Janeiro<\/strong>, which are currently operated with 14 and 5 weekly frequencies <\/strong>respectively.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 13 December 2025<\/strong>, the airline will introduce flights to Recife<\/strong>, initially with three weekly frequencies<\/strong>, rising to five from February 2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, Iberia will launch flights to Fortaleza on 19 January 2026<\/strong>, with three weekly frequencies, rising to four in February. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new direct flights will be operated by Airbus A321XLR aircraft<\/strong>, equipped with the Airspace cabin and configured in two classes: Business and Economy, with a total of 182 seats. With these new routes, Iberia will offer almost 284,000 seats between Spain and Brazil<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The expansion of Iberia’s routes to Latin America not only reflects last year’s excellent results, but also the growing interest in the region among European travellers.
