Each offers a unique blend of culture, nature and hospitality that makes them worthy of this recognition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mexico<\/strong>, <strong>Costa Rica<\/strong>, <strong>Panama <\/strong>and <strong>Belize <\/strong>stand out for their paradisiacal beaches, biodiversity and cultural richness. Another destination with a strong history and colonial culture is <strong>Cuba<\/strong>, which is among the nominees for <strong>Caribbean&#8217;s Leading Cultural Destination<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Metropolises that inspire<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Cities do not stay behind, especially those that are considered cultural centers of the region. <strong>Bogota<\/strong>, <strong>Buenos Aires<\/strong>, <strong>Lima<\/strong>, <strong>Quito<\/strong>, <strong>Rio de Janeiro<\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/visit-latin-america.com\/en\/santiago-de-chile-the-capital-of-a-thousand-faces\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Santiago de Chile<\/a><\/strong> are home to national museums, major theaters, historic universities and cultural festivals, making them strong contenders for the title of <strong>South America&#8217;s Leading City Destination<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:38px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Our article : <a href=\"https:\/\/visit-latin-america.com\/en\/bogota-colombias-energy-at-the-top-of-the-andes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bogot\u00e1, Colombia\u2019s energy at the top of the Andes<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:38px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"810\" height=\"540\" src=\"https:\/\/visit-latin-america.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Mexico_city.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-233919\" style=\"width:326px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/visit-latin-america.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Mexico_city.webp 810w, https:\/\/visit-latin-america.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Mexico_city-300x200.webp 300w, https:\/\/visit-latin-america.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Mexico_city-768x512.webp 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 810px) 100vw, 810px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>In Central America, <strong>Mexico <\/strong>in particular, is more present than ever with eight cities nominated for <strong>the Leading City Break<\/strong>: <strong>Acapulco<\/strong>, <strong>Cancun<\/strong>, <strong>Mazatlan<\/strong>, <strong>Mexico City<\/strong>, <strong>Oaxaca<\/strong>, <strong>Playa del Carmen and Tijuana<\/strong> reflect the country&#8217;s cultural diversity and tourist attractions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, <strong>Machu Picchu,<\/strong> after winning <strong>Leading Tourist Attraction both in South America and globally<\/strong>, has once again been nominated in this same category alongside<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/visit-latin-america.com\/en\/ciudad-perdida-a-journey-through-time-in-the-heart-of-the-colombian-jungle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> the Tayrona National Natural Park<\/a><\/strong>, the <strong>Christ the Redeemer statue<\/strong>, the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/visit-latin-america.com\/en\/iguazu-falls-a-natural-spectacle-on-the-border-of-two-worlds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Iguazu Falls<\/a><\/strong>, the <strong>Perito Moreno Glacier<\/strong>, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether it&#8217;s a honeymoon or a romantic getaway, Latin America does not disappoint as a destination. <strong>Brazil <\/strong>stands out as one of the most romantic countries, with <strong>Rio de Janeiro<\/strong>, <strong>Paraty <\/strong>and <strong>Fernando de Noronha<\/strong> all nominated. Hence the importance of <strong>the Leading City Tourist Board<\/strong> category, where this year <strong>the Cartagena Tourism Corporation<\/strong>, <strong>the Bogota District Tourism Institute<\/strong>, <strong>Visit<\/strong> <strong>Buenos Aires<\/strong>, <strong>Quito Tourism<\/strong>, <strong>the S\u00e3o Paulo Visitors Bureau<\/strong> and <strong>the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic<\/strong>, among many others, stand out.
