Since the beginning of 2025, the Dominican Republic<\/mark><\/a> has welcomed more than 1.6 million cruise passengers, and all signs point to continued growth. The recently signed agreement with the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association<\/em> (FCCA<\/mark><\/a>) places the country among the five destinations with which the association maintains ties at the highest presidential level, thereby strengthening its influence in the region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This partnership opens the door to strategic meetings with the leaders of major shipping companies, where itineraries, service standards, local recruitment, and sourcing from national suppliers are defined. It also includes technical visits, operational adjustments, and training programs from the Center for Cruise Excellence<\/em> (AQUILA<\/mark><\/a>) to improve shore services. The Dominican Republic will also host the Pamac Cruise Summit 2026<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cooperation aims to integrate more regions into the circuit through tailor-made tourism products, better connectivity, and local training, thereby extending the benefits beyond the major terminals already in operation. Puerto Plata<\/strong>, via Taino<\/strong> Bay<\/strong> and Amber Cove<\/strong>, combines beaches, cultural excursions, and rum and cocoa tours. Further south, Cabo Rojo<\/strong> in Pedernales<\/strong> offers access to unspoiled coastline with nature reserves, whale watching<\/mark><\/a>, and community experiences. La Romana<\/strong>, with Casa de Campo, combines golf, marinas, shopping, and getaways to Altos de Chav\u00f3n<\/strong> or Saona Island<\/strong>. Finally, Santo Domingo<\/strong> adds an urban touch with its historical heritage, museums, and gastronomy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
