Managed by private operator TAV Brasil, with an initial investment estimated at USD 10 billion for a 99-year concession, this <strong>417-km<\/strong> project is one of the most ambitious in Latin America. With trains reaching speeds of up to 350 km\/h, it will revolutionize mobility along the country\u2019s busiest corridor.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A competitive alternative to domestic flights<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Four main stations are planned: <strong>Rio de Janeiro<\/strong>,<a href=\"https:\/\/visit-latin-america.com\/en\/sao-paulo-metropolis-of-contrasts-and-cultural-capital-of-brazil\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong> S\u00e3o Paulo<\/strong><\/a>, <strong>S\u00e3o Jos\u00e9<\/strong> dos <strong>Campos, and Volta<\/strong> Redonda. <strong>The 1h45 journey<\/strong> offers a <strong>direct alternative to domestic flights<\/strong>, whose total duration \u2014 including access and waiting times \u2014 easily exceeds two hours. The fare, capped at 0.49 reais per kilometer (around USD 80 per trip), places the ticket in a competitive range compared to air travel. <strong>An extension to Campinas<\/strong>, an economic and airport hub, is also under consideration, which would bring the network\u2019s total length to approximately 510 km. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>An ambitious timeline<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The timeline foresees operations beginning in 2032, pending completion of technical studies, environmental licensing, and land acquisition procedures. By diversifying travel flows and extending the effective length of stays, the train will enhance the appeal of both domestic and international tourism markets.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:70px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The arrival of this high-speed train goes beyond transportation: it invites a rethinking of Brazil\u2019s tourism connectivity.
