Brazil<\/mark><\/a> has just received 60 Blue Flag<\/a><\/strong> certifications <\/strong>for the 2025\/2026 season, including 50 beaches and 10 marinas<\/strong>. This national record reflects the country\u2019s steady progress in the sustainable management of its coastal areas in recent years: 31 beaches were certified in 2023, followed by 38 in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This achievement was made possible thanks to collaboration between authorities, local communities, and environmental organizations, which have made sustainability a cornerstone of tourism development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does the Blue Flag represent?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This international distinction, awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education (<\/strong>FEE<\/strong><\/a>)<\/strong>, recognizes beaches and marinas that meet strict standards for water quality, environmental management, safety, accessibility, and education<\/strong> on these topics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is one of the world\u2019s most recognized eco-labels and a key reference for travelers seeking environmentally friendly destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Brazil, the program is coordinated by the Instituto Ambientes em Rede (IAR)<\/strong> and has helped establish a true culture of responsible coastal management, encouraging sustainable planning in states heavily reliant on beach tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
