Latin America\u2019s hotel industry is experiencing an unprecedented phase of expansion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the latest report from Lodging Econometrics<\/strong><\/a> (LE)<\/strong>, by the end of the third quarter of 2025 the region had 751 hotel projects totaling 116,480 rooms<\/strong> \u2014 an annual increase of 17% <\/strong>in the number of projects and 11%<\/strong> in room count.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A tangible sign of the sector\u2019s dynamism, and a clear indication of the region\u2019s tourism growth potential<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expansion across all development stages<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The hotel project pipeline<\/strong> is growing at every stage of completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of September 2025, 308 hotels<\/strong> were already under construction, while another 211<\/strong> were scheduled to break ground within the next twelve months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, 232 projects were in the planning phase<\/strong> \u2014 a 22%<\/strong> increase compared to 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This evolution reflects the long-term commitment<\/strong> of international hotel groups, driven by rising tourist demand<\/strong> and strengthened regional connectivity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rise of upscale and luxury segments<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A significant share of this growth comes from the upscale and luxury segments<\/strong>, with 267 properties currently in development<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This trend shows the determination of major international brands to strengthen their presence<\/strong> in coastal destinations and regional capitals, where the demand for exclusive experiences continues to grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Bruce Ford<\/strong>, Senior Vice President of Global Development at Lodging Econometrics<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFew regions in the world concentrate as many luxury hotel projects as Latin America. Three countries alone \u2014 Mexico<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>, Brazil<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>, and the Dominican Republic<\/mark><\/a><\/strong> \u2014 account for nearly 65% of all projects in development.\u201d \u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

From the Caribbean to the Southern Cone<\/strong>, this wave of investment is giving rise to new complexes that combine hospitality, residential, and wellness<\/strong> components, often designed under environmental sustainability<\/strong> criteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In destinations such as Riviera Maya<\/strong> and Punta Cana<\/strong>, hotels are aligning with travelers\u2019 new expectations: longer stays, personalized services, and deeper local integration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
