At FITUR Madrid 2026<\/strong>, Guatemala<\/mark><\/a><\/strong> chose to go beyond simple tourism promotion. Its presence was built around clearly defined priorities: concrete environmental commitments and the enhancement of its identity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

An agreement to strengthen the protection of Lake Atitl\u00e1n<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Among the key announcements of this edition was the signing of the \u201cPacto por un Atitl\u00e1n Transparente<\/strong>\u201d, bringing together the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources<\/strong> (MARN), INGUAT <\/a><\/strong>and the Guatemalan Chamber of Tourism<\/strong> (Camtur<\/a><\/strong>). This agreement aims to reduce pollution in Lake Atitl\u00e1n<\/a> in order to preserve its biodiversity and encourage more responsible tourism practices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This exceptional site, which represents both a major natural heritage, an identity symbol and an economic pillar for local communities, will benefit from coordinated public and private actions designed to integrate more demanding environmental criteria into the tourism management of the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un stand prim\u00e9 pour sa proposition immersive<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The country received the Best Stand Award<\/strong> from the fair\u2019s organisers, recognising a proposal that combined cultural identity, technological innovation and an immersive experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Audiovisual projections referencing the Mayan worldview, interactive spaces and the promotion of local products helped capture visitors\u2019 attention while conveying a coherent and contemporary vision of the destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
