On the one hand, major long-haul routes continue to strengthen, with particular attention given to Brazil, Panama, Peru and Central America. On the other, several targeted announcements confirm the importance of more specific markets, such as Guatemala, now better connected to the United States for the 2026 season.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These announcements illustrate an evolution already visible for several months: airlines are no longer limiting themselves to the major historic routes. Beyond the connection between Belgium and Brazil, this flight strengthens the role of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/visit-latin-america.com\/en\/sao-paulo-metropolis-of-contrasts-and-cultural-capital-of-brazil\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">S\u00e3o Paulo<\/a><\/strong> as a connecting point to the rest of South America, with possible connections to many destinations across the LATAM network. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>S\u00e3o Paulo\/Guarulhos (GRU) \u2013 Brussels (BRU)<\/strong> \u2013 Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Flight LA8088: <strong>GRU <\/strong>18:10 \u2013 <strong>BRU <\/strong>10:50 (+1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Brussels (BRU) \u2013 S\u00e3o Paulo\/Guarulhos (GRU) <\/strong>\u2013 Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> \u2022 Flight LA8089: <strong>BRU <\/strong>13:10 \u2013 <strong>GRU <\/strong>20:10<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Central America is also benefiting from a transatlantic boost. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.avianca.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\"><strong>Avianca <\/strong><\/mark><\/a>is reactivating its direct route between <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/visit-latin-america.com\/en\/san-salvador-the-raw-energy-of-an-overlooked-capital\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">San Salvador <\/a>and Madrid<\/strong> for the 2026 summer season. The service will operate <strong>from June 15 to September 15<\/strong>, with <strong>four weekly frequencies<\/strong>, in partnership with Wamos Air and using Airbus A330 aircraft. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This operation gives <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/visit-latin-america.com\/en\/p\/el-salvador\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">El Salvador<\/a><\/strong> a direct connection with Spain during the high season, while expanding access options to Central America from Europe. The route will therefore increase from three to four flights per week during this period. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This increase represents nearly 8,000 additional seats and reflects sustained demand on the Madrid\u2013Panama axis. The airline\u2019s board of directors has approved the launch of <strong>scheduled flights to Lima<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At this stage, no launch schedule has been announced. The announcement should therefore be treated as a prospect, but it confirms the growing interest of major long-haul carriers in <a href=\"https:\/\/visit-latin-america.com\/en\/p\/peru\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Peru<\/strong><\/a>. A future route to Lima would strengthen Istanbul\u2019s role as a hub to South America. Detailed schedules have not yet been published. For Guatemala, this service broadens access from the northeastern United States, an important source market for the region. Brazil benefits from a dual movement from Europe and Asia, Panama gains capacity, El Salvador regains a seasonal transatlantic connection and Guatemala strengthens its links with the United States.
