Who are we ?
We are a family business from Ecuador that produces and exports panamas and other articles made of paja toquilla (variety of palm leaf) with a trajectory of more than 100 years in this field!
We are convinced that sharing the history of the Panama hat with visitors from all over the world contributes fully to the diffusion of this emblematic product of Ecuador.
Within the Homero Ortega factory, we have installed the “Magic of the Hat” Museum to highlight the cultural importance of the Panama hat and explain the process of its elaboration by directly involving our visitors in the process of its manufacture.
The tour ends in our showroom where we present and sell high quality hats with unique designs. Entrance to the Museum is free with guides for explanations.
