September has brought a particularly large number of announcements between Europe and Latin America. Aeromexico is preparing two new routes to Paris and Milan, GOL has just opened Lisbon–Rio de Janeiro, while Madrid will gain a new connection to Rosario.

These new routes are accompanied by several resumptions and frequency changes for the 2026-2027 season: Edelweiss is returning to Colombia, Air Canada is resuming Toronto–Santiago and British Airways is making significant changes to its services to Buenos Aires and Costa Rica.

Aeromexico adds Paris and Milan to its European schedule

Aeromexicowill open two new routes in spring 2027. From 13 April, Guadalajarawill be connected directly to Paris-Charles de Gaulle three times per week. It will become the third Mexican city served by Aeromexico from Paris, after Mexico City and Monterrey. Flights will be operated with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

Paris-CDG (CDG) – Guadalajara (GDL) – Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays:

Guadalajara (GDL) – Paris-CDG (CDG) – Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays:

A few weeks earlier, on 28 March 2027, Aeromexico will also inaugurate Mexico City–Milan Malpensa with four weekly frequencies. Milan will thus become its second Italian destination after Rome.

GOL opens Lisbon–Rio and already plans an additional frequency

GOLinaugurated its first scheduled route to Europe on 16 September, between Lisbon and Rio de Janeiro/Galeão. The service starts with four weekly frequencies operated with Airbus A330-200 aircraft. From 24 November, the airline already plans to increase this to five flights per week.

Lisbon (LIS) – Rio de Janeiro/Galeão (GIG) – four weekly frequencies at launch:

Flight G3 7021: LIS 23:30/23:35 – GIG 05:30/05:35 (+1)
Flight G3 7020: GIG 08:00/08:05 – LIS 21:40/21:45

The few minutes of variation depend on the day of operation. Above all, the route provides a new direct option between Portugal and Rio, on a market previously dominated by TAP Air Portugal.

World2Fly will connect Madrid with Rosario

World2Fly will inaugurate on 1 October 2026 the first direct connection between Madrid and Rosario in Argentina, with two weekly flights on Tuesdays and Thursdays operated with Airbus A350-900 aircraft. For Rosario, the country’s third-largest city, it will be the first direct connection with Europe.

Schedules will change slightly from the end of October with the switch to the winter schedule.

Air France will connect the French Caribbean with Panama

From 11 December, Air France will open a direct route between Pointe-à-Pitre and Panama City. Two flights per week will operate until 5 March 2027 using a 170-seat Airbus A320. The schedule also allows connections from Fort-de-France and Cayenne, and onward from Panama across the Copa Airlines network.

Edelweiss returns to Colombia for the winter season

Edelweiss will resume its seasonal service to Colombia on 25 October. The Swiss airline will operate two weekly flights, on Wednesdays and Sundays, on the triangular route Zurich–Bogotá–Cartagena–Zurich. The season will continue until the end of March 2027, this time with a 339-seat Airbus A350-900.

Zurich (ZRH) – Bogotá (BOG) – Cartagena (CTG) – Wednesdays and Sundays:

Flight WK92: ZRH 13:25/13:30 – BOG 19:20/19:25

Then BOG 21:10 – CTG 22:40

Cartagena (CTG) – Zurich (ZRH):

British Airways revises its schedule to Argentina, Chile and Costa Rica

From 28 March 2027, British Airways will once again offer a daily non-stop flight between London-Heathrow and Buenos Aires. The current service to Argentina operates via Rio de Janeiro. Under the new schedule, Buenos Aires will be served directly from London, after which the same flight will continue to Santiago de Chile.

On the return journey, the service will depart Santiago, stop in Buenos Aires and then continue to London.

On the same day, British Airways will also change London–San José, Costa Rica from a seasonal service to a year-round operation. The airline will maintain five weekly frequencies during winter and three during summer, using a Boeing 787-8.

Air Canada resumes Toronto–Santiago

Air Canada will resume its seasonal direct service between Toronto and Santiago de Chile from 25 October 2026. The schedule will run until 27 March 2027, with four weekly frequencies operated by Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
