During the final month of the year, airlines are adjusting their networks with an eye on 2026, prioritizing targeted and precise decisions over sheer volume. From the strengthening of the Dominican Republic–United States corridor to the reinstatement of direct routes from Ecuador, and the launch of new connections between South America and Europe, recent announcements reflect a reorganization of air transport around identified source markets, seasonal windows, and corridors that have once again become strategic within international schedules.

The Dominican Republic strengthens its network with the United States

The Ministry of Tourism and Arajet confirmed thatstarting next spring, the airline will add a daily frequency between Newark and Santo Domingo. The route currently operates two daily flights, one in the morning and one in the evening; the exact schedule of this third rotation has not yet been announced.

This service strengthens Jalisco’s presence in the Canadian market—one of the state’s main international source markets—and aligns with the sustained growth observed in this segment throughout 2025.

Schedules Calgary (YYC) – Guadalajara (GDL) – Tuesday and Sunday:
  • Flight WS2278: YYC 09:15 – GDL 15:43

Ecuador restores a direct route with the United States

Schedules New York (JFK) – Guayaquil (GYE) – daily:

New long-haul routes between South America and Europe

World2Fly has opened sales for its new direct route between Rosario (Argentina) and Madrid, with operations scheduled to begin on October 1, 2026, offering two weekly frequencies. This announcement marks the return of a direct connection between southern Santa Fe province and Europe, and forms part of the Spanish airline’s strategy to develop its long-haul network in tourism-driven and highly seasonal markets.

Schedules Madrid (MAD) – Rosario (ROS) – Tuesday and Thursday:
  • Flight 2W2075: MAD 10:25 – ROS 18:00
  • Flight 2W2076: ROS 21:00 – MAD 12:35

Africa, Europe, and South America: strengthening the Brazil–Europe–North Africa axis

Schedules Casablanca (CMN) – São Paulo (GRU) – Thursday and Saturday:
  • Flight AT 215: CMN 16:35 – GRU 22:25
  • Flight AT 214: GRU 00:25 – CMN 13:20

For the destinations involved, these launches and capacity increases go far beyond a simple expansion of supply. They allow for optimized travel times, broader source markets, and more diversified passenger profiles. In a context of increasingly fragmented demand, connectivity emerges as a true positioning tool, capable of supporting mature markets while reactivating territories that are gradually regaining their place in international schedules.
