Spanish airline Iberia is investing in the recovery of its flight network, and has announced an increase in the number of frequencies on a majority of its routes to Latin America from 31 October next.
In September, Iberia celebrated the 75th anniversary of its flights to Latin America, its main market and the one in which it has developed its entire strategy in recent years.
“The airline has demonstrated its commitment to Latin America in good times and bad, always maintaining connectivity. In the next season -beginning on October 31, 2021- it will offer flights to 17 destinations in 15 Latin American countries and will exceed 200 weekly flights to the region”, said the company.
Mexico, where two daily flights are already offered, and the Dominican Republic, with three additional weekly flights (13 in total), are the markets with the strongest growth. Colombia, for its part, with three additional frequencies to Bogotá, will reach 10 weekly routes; as well as Cali, a route that Iberia will recover from December with three weekly frequencies until March 2022.
In addition, the company will increase its capacity with Central America and the Caribbean; specifically, Panama, Costa Rica and Guatemala-El Salvador will each have an additional flight per week, bringing the frequency to six per week for the first two and to five per week for the Madrid-Guatemala-El Salvador triangular flight.
Buenos Aires, Lima, Sao Paulo and Santiago de Chile will continue to have a daily flight.
San Juan, Puerto Rico, also increases from three to four frequencies, Uruguay opens the new season with an additional flight bringing the number of direct flights per week to six and Havana completes the list of increases with three weekly frequencies.
