Chile, with its diversity of spectacular landscapes and rich culture, is revealed in a new light thanks to Los Imperdibles de Chile, a captivating documentary series available on YouTube. Produced by Chile Travel and Chile es Tuyo, this six-episode programme takes viewers on a journey through the country’s most emblematic sites, while highlighting the history, traditions and gastronomy of local communities.
A Visual Journey through the Wonders of Chile
Each episode, lasting less than ten minutes, takes travellers to fascinating destinations such as the mysterious Laguna Roja, the majestic Capillas de Mármol, Patagonia and the Exploradores glacier. But Los Imperdibles de Chile doesn‘t stop at scenic beauty: the series offers an authentic immersion in Chilean culture, thanks to the stories told by the locals and the culinary discoveries that punctuate each stopover.
In Iquique, for example, viewers can immerse themselves in the historic quarter, admire the dunes of Cerro Dragón and discover the Humberstone saltworks, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The documentaries also take us to more remote places such as Nueva Braunau or Tantauco Park on the island of Chiloé, revealing little-known treasures that bear witness to the country’s wealth.

Chile, Land of Adventure Tourism

With Los Imperdibles de Chile, Sernatur is pursuing its objective of positioning the country as a global benchmark for adventure tourism. It’s no coincidence that Chile has been named Best Adventure Tourism Destination in the World six times and Best Adventure Tourism Destination in South America ten times at the World Travel Awards. Between the peaks of the Andes, the fjords of Patagonia and the beaches of the Pacific, the country offers an ideal playground for travellers who love nature and exploration.
“One of the main reasons why foreign tourists prefer Chile as a travel destination is its nature: 59.2% of them choose Chile for this reason. With this series, we also want to motivate Chileans and residents to discover the country’s emblematic places. As well as showing the great diversity of landscapes, Los Imperdibles de Chile tells the story of the people who live in these areas and small towns. Santiago Fernández, National Director of Sernatur
