Chubut was voted one of the 10 most hospitable provinces in the world in the Traveller Review Awards 2021 by the international website Booking.com, based on millions of customer comments on the tourism providers working with the site.

“This award for the special work of our providers and the hospitality they show to visitors makes us proud and obliges us to redouble our efforts to continue to receive tourists in the best possible way. We know that we have many tourist resources for all audiences, and the work of all the providers who are rewarded with this award from one of the world’s most important websites shows that human resources are important and make the difference”, said the Argentine Minister of Tourism and Protected Areas, Nestor Garcia.

“Chubut is one of the Argentine provinces with the greatest future in tourism and we believe that tourism can be one of the economic pillars in the years to come. We are proud that our service providers are recognised by the visitors themselves (…). We work side by side with the private sector and we know what they have been through last year. The international recognition of their work makes us very happy”, added the Minister.

Located in the south of Argentina, between the Andes and the Atlantic Ocean, Chubut province offers the best of both worlds. If Patagonia is famous for its incredible landscapes and the diversity of its flora and fauna, ideal for an adventure trip, Chubut also offers a spectacular coastline for those who love beaches and relaxation.

Among its exceptional attractions are whale and dolphin watching, penguin colonies, the possibility of diving in its blue waters, a visit to an hacienda, a trip to the Trochita, the possibility of skiing in winter or enjoying its museums and gastronomy, among other possibilities.

Only customers who stayed in an accommodation, rented a car or took a taxi in Chubut in 2020 could leave a review of their experience on the website. Since the comments are not edited or corrected, users of the site can take them as an authentic reference to the experience of an actual traveller staying in an accommodation or using ground transportation in the province.

“As the frequency and number of trips went down, each trip was more meaningful than ever to the travel community. That is why it is even more important today to recognise the excellent service demonstrated by those who won a Traveller Review Award in an unprecedented year,” said Arjan Dijk, Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Booking.com, in the press release announcing the results.

Two other regions in Latin America also stood out in this ranking of the world’s most hospitable states or provinces: O’Higgins (Chile) and Minas Gerais (Brazil) as well as destinations as diverse as Taitung Count (Taiwan), Prešovský kraj (Slovakia), Oberösterreich (Austria), Tasmania (Australia), Canterbury (New Zealand), Nova Scotia (Canada), Iowa (USA).
