The city of Iquitos, located in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon, has been crowned “Best Latin American Incentive Destination” at the prestigious World MICE Awards. This triumph was announced at the ITB Berlin 2024 trade fair, where Paola Marín, Director of Tourism at PromPerú, and Úrsula Vera Hernández, President of the Iquitos Convention Bureau, received the award.

This international recognition highlights Iquitos as a perfect destination for organising incentive programmes, offering a variety of unique activities and cultural experiences in a breathtaking natural setting. The city’s infrastructure, including luxury hotels, modern convention centres, exceptional restaurants and efficient transport options, makes it a preferred choice for corporate events.

PromPerú is committed to continuing to strengthen links with regional offices, encouraging their participation in marketing events and consolidating Peru’s positioning as a key destination for meetings and incentive tourism.

For some years now, the city has been attracting the attention of travellers and event organisers from all over the world, solidifying its reputation as a jewel of tourism on a global scale, ready to welcome all visitors looking for authentic and memorable experiences.
