Air Europa will strengthen its presence in Switzerland from 19 June 2026 with the launch of a direct route between Geneva and Madrid. The Spanish airline will operate two daily flights between Geneva Airport and its Madrid-Barajas hub, giving Swiss travellers and cross-border passengers new access to its international network, particularly to Latin America and the Caribbean.
Geneva will become Air Europa’s second destination in Switzerland after Zurich, which is already linked to the Spanish capital with two daily frequencies. With this new route, the airline expects to offer more than 260,000 seats per year in Geneva, bringing its total capacity in Switzerland to more than half a million annual seats.
Two daily flights between Geneva and Madrid
The service will operate year-round. From Geneva, flights will depart at 11:00 and 18:20, arriving in Madrid at 12:55 and 20:15. In the opposite direction, departures are scheduled at 08:00 and 15:35, with arrival in Geneva at 09:55 and 17:30.

The flights will be operated with Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which Air Europa uses on its short- and medium-haul routes, with capacity suited for both passenger and cargo transport.
Expanded access to Latin America and the Caribbean
The value of this new route goes beyond the connection with Spain alone. From Madrid, Air Europa currently serves 20 direct destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean, with around 96 weekly frequencies.
In the Caribbean, the airline serves Havana, Cancún, Punta Cana, Santiago de los Caballeros and Santo Domingo, with the frequency of flights to the latter two destinations set to increase for the 2026 summer season (June–September) to 3 and 11 weekly services respectively.
In Central America, Air Europa offers direct services to Panama City with one daily flight, as well as to San Pedro Sula in Honduras with three weekly flights.
South America represents the densest part of the regional network. From Madrid, the airline operates daily flights to Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Bogotá, Medellín, Asunción, Lima and Montevideo, alongside several weekly frequencies to Córdoba, Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Salvador de Bahia, Guayaquil, Quito and Caracas.
Connections to nearly 30 cities
Beyond direct flights, Air Europa also provides access to a wider network through connecting services. From Madrid, travellers can continue to cities such as Mendoza, Puerto Iguazú, Rosario, Salta, Cochabamba, Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Fortaleza, Santiago de Chile, Cali, Cartagena de Indias, Pereira, San José, San Salvador, Guatemala City, Tegucigalpa, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Managua and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
For travel professionals, this new route therefore creates an additional option for building itineraries to Latin America and the Caribbean from Switzerland. The double daily frequency between Geneva and Madrid simplifies connections while offering greater flexibility in departure planning.
