FIEXPO 2023: Panama, a hub for meetings tourism
FIEXPO Latin America 2023, held at the Panama Convention Center on 21 and 22 June 2023, is a must-attend event for tourism professionals. For the second year in a row, Panama has established itself as the nerve centre of the meetings industry, attracting more than 2,000 participants from various regions, including the United States, Canada, Europe and Latin America.
FIEXPO Latin America offers a unique platform where destinations and suppliers specialising in the meetings, events and incentives industry can connect with the world’s most important buyers. More than 20 countries and 80 tourist destinations are represented during the event, offering tourism professionals an unrivalled opportunity to meet with industry players from the Latin American region.
The event features a rich programme, presented for the first time on four interactive stages. The 60 national and international speakers will discuss the latest trends in meetings tourism, including technological change with the arrival of artificial intelligence tools, as well as sustainability and innovation in this field.
The economic impact of FIEXPO Latin America is significant, with a direct injection of more than US$8 million into the country’s economy. But perhaps the most important aspect for tourism professionals is the volume of business that will be generated by the event. Estimates point to more than $500 million worth of business and future conventions being developed at the fair.
Fernando Fondevila, CEO of PROMTUR Panama, stressed that FIEXPO Latin America is the most important event in the meetings industry for the region. This event reinforces Panama’s image as a prime tourist destination for the congress industry.
