The MICHELIN guide returns to Argentina

The second edition of the MICHELIN guide Buenos Aires & Mendoza 2025 will be unveiled at a special ceremony in the province renowned for its mountains, its wines and the warmth of its people. On Monday April 7, Mendoza’s Susana Balbo winery will be the scene of one of the most important gastronomic events of the year.


The Michelin Guide, which lists the world’s finest restaurants, has been celebrating culinary excellence for over 100 years. In 2023, it arrived in Argentina, becoming the second Latin American country to have this publication, and the first Spanish-speaking country, since it was already present in Brazil.

During the gala, the restaurants joining the 2025 edition of the Guide will be announced, along with the winners of the famous MICHELIN stars, the Bib Gourmand, the special awards and theÉtoile verte. The latter is a distinction that rewards establishments particularly committed to sustainable gastronomy, nature and the future of the planet.

An unforgettable first edition

The Michelin Guide is off to a flying start in Argentina, awarding two stars to the restaurant Aramburuin Buenos Aires. Don Julio – which also features in the list of the world’s 50 best restaurants in 2024 – as well as Trescha, Zonda Cocina, Casa Vigil, Brindillas and Azafrán, were awarded one star.

The Bib Gourmand award for value for money was also given to : Bis Bistró, Reliquia, Anafe, República del Fuego, Caseros, Mengano and La Alacena Trattoria. In addition, 57 other outstanding places were recommended, spread mainly between Buenos Aires and Mendoza.

It should be pointed out that the star rating reflects a specific level of excellence:

● A star is awarded for high-quality cuisine in its category.
● Two stars reward an exceptional table that deserves a detour.
● Three stars recognize a unique gastronomic experience that justifies a trip in itself.

The return of the gastronomic “Bible

Set against the magnificent backdrop of the Bodega Susana Balbo mountain range, the event, which celebrates the gastronomic talent of Buenos Aires and Mendoza, will bring together all the chefs responsible for the selected restaurants, as well as partners and referents from the gastronomic sector.

This new edition is not only an opportunity to reward emerging talent and young chefs, but also a reflection of the wonderful dishes hidden in Latin American kitchens.
