Cartagena, meanwhile, will be connected to 10 destinations (5 national and 5 international), including a new route to Guayaquil.

Avianca has also strengthened its connectivity in 2024 with routes from Bogotá to Montreal, Caracas, Paris, Chicago and soon Tulum and Buenos Aires. This development aims to position the airline as a key player in Latin American connectivity, facilitating trade and tourism between the continent’s major cities and beyond.

Opportunities for Tourism Professionals

These new connections offer tourism professionals development opportunities in emerging markets such as Guyana, while strengthening traditional tourist flows to established destinations such as Panama. With the increase in business and leisure travel options, tourism operators and travel agencies can exploit these new routes to create attractive packages and multi-destination tours, thereby promoting growth in the sector.
