The airline Aerolíneas Argentinas has announced a significant increase in its flights to Brazil, marking a strategic expansion towards one of its main international destinations. This summer, the airline will offer up to 95 weekly flights to various Brazilian cities, capitalising on the winter season to boost tourism between the two countries.

Strengthening air links with Brazil

During July and August, Argentina’s winter holiday period, Aerolíneas Argentinas will serve seven Brazilian cities with increased frequencies. This includes a daily direct flight between São Paulo and Bariloche, as well as two weekly flights to Ushuaia and Chapelco, in addition to direct flights to Cordoba (two weekly), Salta (one weekly) and Buenos Aires (five daily).

Buenos Aires will also be linked to Rio de Janeiro by three daily flights, in addition to seven weekly flights to Porto Alegre, six to Salvador de Bahia, six to Curitiba and three to Brasilia. The route to Porto Seguro, which had not been served for five years, has also been resumed, strengthening connectivity and offering more options for travellers wishing to discover these two destinations.

Economic and tourism impact

The 12% increase in the number of seats over the previous year reflects not only the airline’s commitment to strengthening tourism exchanges but also to stimulating the local economy through tourism. Fabián Lombardo, President of Aerolíneas Argentinas, stressed the importance of the Brazilian market, which is Aerolíneas Argentinas’ largest international outbound market in terms of passengers. This expansion is a strategic response to the growing need for connectivity and capacity.
